In my opinion, we feed off of ----, not love. ---- blinds us to what we dont want to see or notice until the ---- hormone wears off. The the unveiling happens and we see the other for what they really are. Thats how you know if it's really ---- or love. Love overpowers those little annoyances and were able to over look them. It's a proven fact that the LOVE HORMONE only lasts about 6 months to a year, after that is when we tend to see many flaws in the other, things we dont like and then the resentment begins. Relationships are WORK! They do NOT just happen and maintain themselves. Once your married it's even more important to work and maintain it. The best thing to have in any relationship is a understanding and willingness to compramise. Find the friend in each other and have fun. To many times we dont take the time to become friends first, your mate is suppose to be your BF. Take it from me, if you dont follow these rules then your headed for disaster and will end up where i am. We did 11-12 sessions of counseling and it was all for nothing. If both people dont want to work at it then it was probably over long ago. At this point our relationship is more like a business venture, it's sad really. He does his thing and I do mine.

`Yeah, I agree with everything you just said! I'm in a business venture marriage myself, so I know exactly what you are talking about. A close relationship like that is a two way street, and you can't carry the entire burden of making it work by yourself, both people have to work hard together to keep that bridge between you in good order, or it will soon collapse.

`I'm a straight up honest person and I've told him, "If i keep doing it alone, i mine as well be alone." I wasted 11yrs of my life with the ex, thankfully i never married him but i told my now husband that i will NOT spend another 11 yrs in the same situation. I guess that was the day the business contract was signed,lol. It's all good thought because even contacts have a expiration date,lol.
